Hokkaido-Style Melon – 2 Count
Hokkaido Crisp — A Japanese-Style Melon Grown in Norwich, New York
2 Premium Melons · Harvested to Order • Ships Nationwide
Grown from seed stock imported from Japan, Hokkaido Crisp is our first harvest of a premium Hokkaido-style melon grown here at Norwich Meadows Farm in upstate New York. Following traditional Japanese growing techniques, we thin each vine to a single melon, allowing the plant to direct its energy and resources into one carefully tended fruit.
As the melon ripens, we carefully manage its water to help concentrate the flavor and develop the proper balance of sweetness, aroma, and texture. The result is a distinctive crisp-fleshed melon with a clean, refreshing flavor—well balanced and flavorful without being overly sweet.
This was an ambitious experiment for our farm, requiring tremendous attention and care throughout the growing season. We are very proud of this first harvest and excited to share it with you.
This is a fresh product for eating and enjoying. We do not sell seeds or plants.
What Does It Taste Like?
Hokkaido Crisp has firm, crisp flesh and a clean, delicate melon flavor, with a beautiful orange flesh. Its sweetness is restrained and well balanced, making it refreshing rather than sugary—and distinctly different from a soft, intensely sweet muskmelon.
How to Enjoy
Eat it as is. At most, add a little flaky sea salt.
Seasonal Availability
Hokkaido Crisp is grown in extremely limited quantities and is available only during a short summer harvest window. Because each vine produces just one melon, availability will vary and quantities may sell out quickly.
