About Romano Beans

Romano beans originated in Italy, where they have long been favored for their exceptional flavor and versatility. Grown on climbing pole plants rather than bush varieties, they produce long, flat pods that develop outstanding sweetness and tenderness when harvested young.

Their broad pods hold up beautifully during cooking while remaining crisp-tender, making them a favorite among chefs for sautéing, grilling, braising, roasting, and preserving.

How to Use

Romano beans require very little preparation beyond trimming the stem ends. They are excellent simply blanched and finished with olive oil and sea salt, sautéed with garlic, grilled until lightly charred, roasted alongside tomatoes, or slowly braised with onions and herbs.

Their hearty texture also makes them ideal for pasta dishes, bean salads, vegetable stews, and classic Italian preparations.
