Our Organic Mixed Baby Lettuce Blend is an assortment of peak-season baby lettuces selected for flavor, texture, and color. One of our core offerings to many of New York City’s top restaurants, this mix brings together tender, fully formed baby heads for a beautiful and balanced salad experience.
Each box contains a rotating selection of the organic lettuces performing best in our fields. Depending on the harvest, the blend may include oak leaf, butterhead, crisphead, Lollo Rosso, green leaf, red leaf, romaine, and other specialty varieties. The assortment changes throughout the season; specific varieties and proportions are not guaranteed.
This lettuce is not washed and is not ready to eat. Wash thoroughly before serving.
What Is Mixed Baby Lettuce?
Unlike a conventional spring mix made from pre-cut leaves, our blend is composed of young, intact lettuce heads harvested at an early stage. The leaves are tender while retaining enough structure to hold up beautifully in composed salads and plated dishes.
Because the heads arrive whole, chefs can separate, trim, or plate the leaves exactly as needed. This preserves their structure, helps extend shelf life, and provides greater control in the kitchen.
Flavor & Texture
Balanced and lively, the blend combines soft, buttery leaves with crisp, structured varieties. Flavors range from mild and sweet to gently bitter, creating a complete salad with natural contrast in every handful.
The mix is selected for visual range as well as flavor, bringing together different shapes and shades of green, bronze, and red.
